Meet Our Team

Here at The Eye Lab Melbourne, we want your experience from walking through the door to the eye exam and beyond to be as unique and tailored as possible. We take pride in taking our time to discuss with you, your specific needs, to find a frame and lens that fits your personality. We enjoy a coffee or two from our local friends and are happy to share a coffee with you during the consultation. Just like welcoming you to our home, we welcome you to the eye lab our second home.

Vic El-Khoury, OD

Founder & Principal Optometrist

Having graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Optometry, and having opened up the eye lab whilst still studying. Vic saw the not so obvious needs in Optometry. His real interest is in Ocular Aesthetics and Anterior eye. This includes Dry eye, Myopia, Blepharitis, Rosacea, OrthoK, Keratoconus and all things Cornea. Vic is currently a member of both ‘Orthokeratology Oceania’ , ‘Cornea and Contact lens Society of Australia’ and ‘Optometry Australia’. He enjoys reading the latest advancements in Dry eye treatment. Away from work, Vic spends time with his young family and enjoys watching all Sports.

Emma El-Khoury

Founder and Dispenser

If you love our frames, you have Emma to thank. As the brains behind Brand and frame selection, Emma enjoys sifting through all the frames on offer, to carefully select only the best to be on our shelves. Emma is a coffee snob and enjoys a couple of cups from our local friends. Bringing in experience from a different angle to Vic, Emma is the perfect person to help choose your next frame or demonstrate proper Ocular hygiene.

Claudette Zakhour Yacoub

Senior Optometrist

Claudette is a seasoned Optometrist with more than two decades experience. She earned her double degree Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Optometry (Honours) from the University of Melbourne in 2000. A Member of Optometry Australia, Claudette is dedicated to prioritising patient care, optimising visual outcomes, and delivering comprehensive eye care for families. Her areas of interest encompass; Ocular disease, Children’s Vision assessments and Myopia control.

Outside of her profession, Claudette is a mother of three, who enjoys lesisurely walks and being outdoors.
